I'm Lucy Lowther, Founder and Director of The Howardian Care Company.
I established the business almost 10 years ago after a deeply personal experience when my own mother became seriously unwell. Going through that difficult time gave me a first-hand understanding of the worry, uncertainty, and emotional strain families face when a loved one requires care and support. With the demands of modern life, work, and family commitments, it can be a huge relief to know there is a trusted local service available to help.
The Howardian Care Company is an independent care provider specialising in early intervention and preventative support. We offer a wide range of services designed to help older and vulnerable people remain independent, safe, and happy in their own homes and communities.
Our aim is to empower our clients to maintain their independence and enjoy the best possible quality of life. Over the years, we have supported numerous families across North Yorkshire, continually adapting and growing to meet the changing needs of our clients.
We are incredibly proud of the relationships we build with those we support. Trust, compassion, and continuity of care are at the heart of everything we do. Our highly skilled team members live and work within the communities we serve and have strong links with local GP surgeries, District Nursing teams, local authorities, and charities including Dementia Forward and Living Well. We have extensive experience supporting people living with dementia and understand the specialist care, patience, and reassurance this condition often requires. We also support individuals living with a wide range of other age-related conditions, illnesses, and vulnerabilities.
Above all, we believe care is about more than practical support. It is about companionship, kindness, dignity, and understanding. Every service we provide is tailored to the individual, ensuring that each client receives the support that is right for them.
